Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the HEIC to JPG mobile application ("the App") operated by Drizzling Bytes ("we", "us", or "our"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

HEIC to JPG is a photo conversion application that converts HEIC, HEIF, PNG, TIFF, and BMP photos to universally compatible JPG or PNG format. The App supports batch conversion, configurable quality settings, file size limits, resolution scaling, and multiple sharing and export options. All processing happens locally on your iPhone.

2. Eligibility

The App is available to users of all ages. No account creation is required. If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.

3. License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms and the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (EULA).

4. Your Content

• You retain full ownership of all photos you convert using HEIC to JPG.
• We do not access, copy, upload, or store your photos. All processing is performed locally on your device.
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to convert and share any photos you process with the App.
• Converted photos preserve EXIF metadata from the originals, including dates, GPS coordinates, and camera information. You are responsible for being aware of what metadata your photos contain before sharing them.

5. Photo Library Modifications

The App provides features that modify your photo library. You acknowledge and agree that:

• Replace Originals: This feature saves the converted JPG to your photo library and deletes the original HEIC file. This action is irreversible once confirmed. We strongly recommend verifying the converted output before using this feature.
• Delete Original HEICs: This feature permanently removes original HEIC files from your photo library. Deleted photos may be recoverable from the "Recently Deleted" album in Photos for up to 30 days, per Apple's standard behavior, but are not recoverable after that period.
• Save to Photos: This feature adds converted photos to your library without modifying originals.

You are solely responsible for backing up important photos before using destructive operations. We are not liable for any data loss resulting from the use of these features.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App.
• Redistribute or sublicense the App.
• Use the App to process photos you do not have the right to access or distribute.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The App will be error-free or uninterrupted.
• Converted photos will meet specific quality, size, or format requirements in all cases.
• The App will be compatible with all photo formats, devices, or iOS versions.
• File size estimates or reduction percentages will be exact.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Drizzling Bytes shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to:

• Loss of photos or image data.
• Unintended deletion of original files.
• Quality degradation from compression settings you selected.
• Loss of metadata during conversion.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App.

9. Availability and Changes

• We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the App at any time.
• The App does not require an internet connection for core functionality.
• App updates are distributed through the Apple App Store.

10. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
